I'm a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) with a passion for the mountains. Like the sun lighting the peaks at dawn and dusk, music has unique power to help people of all ages to find joy in life's hardest moments. I trained at Utah State University and Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland, OH. I have experience with every age group, from newborns in the NICU to life's veterans in an assisted living. Whatever your goals, I am excited to help you on your journey.
Music therapy is a healthcare profession grounded in research. Music therapy is designed to help individuals and families achieve non-musical goals through musical experiences.
Sessions are led by a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). MT-BCs are specially trained to assess client needs and strengths and to design personalized treatment plans with evidence-based musical interventions.
No matter their age, needs, or musical background, music therapy can help clients achieve goals such as:
Improve emotional regulation and expression
Increase speech production and clarity
Cope with mental illness
Improve bonding relationships
Increase motor movement and dexterity
Prepare for or grieve loss
Increase distress tolerance
Improve educational outcomes
And much more...
The clients’ needs, interests, strengths, and preferences are our priority! The design of treatment plans and sessions is a collaborative effort between the therapist and the client, where the client can feel empowered to make meaningful choices in their care.
To help clients achieve their goals, the MT-BC leads musical experiences or “interventions” that fit the clients’ interests, skills, and needs. Here are some examples:

Improvisation
